Thrifting isn't for the faint of heart. It can be time-consuming and tiresome when you are caught up in the thrill of the hunt or uncertainty behind the challenge. I think what turns even more people away is that it is not the most convenient or efficient way of shopping, especially when all of the magazines lay out exactly what to GO. BUY. NOW! (no pressure). So while this moment may be going against my whole blog's positive thrifting mantra, I'm not afraid to admit that sometimes it
is hard to stay "on trend" shopping at thrift stores!
There is one item that has yet to fail me in my thrifting escapades. From large to small, vintage to modern, leather to canvas - I always manage to find
a stylish spot-on handbag to bring my thrifty looks up to speed. Since I am in the process of moving I thought it would be fun to sift through all of my purses. I'm no
Bag Snob but I do know what I like when I see it and apparently I'm a big fan of the
"bucket bag" style because somehow I've come to own three...somehow;-)
I remembered these pictures I took of my best friend last summer carrying my favorite woven bucket bag (see more
here).
I love this bag because its practical in size, a lovely ox-blood red, and the texturing is phenomenal. It also fits right in with the 70s trend happening for summer and I can't help but imagine how divine it would look dyed navy blue with some silver stud detail. I'm definitely going to make this a staple item in my wardrobe so get ready for several repeat performances. I tend to treat my purses like I would my children, they get a little beat up and worn out, but it's only because I love them so much. Right mom?
