Audrey Freighton's blog FRASSY just made my day. WHY?
READ THIS:
"I bought this 'dress' at a flea market in Paris a couple weeks ago. I spotted the blue frills and got excited, but my friend (who came shopping with me) insisted it was a skirt. I was convinced it would look awesome as a dress. As I held it up to my body, laughing at how the frills bounced as I twirled around, the vendor angrily declared it was "une jupe" (a skirt). Before he started yelling, I handed him a 2 euro coin and so this weird garment of clothing because my favourite, most hilarious 'non-dress'.
Huge amounts of money doesn't guarantee "style"- if you don't have the dollar, you just have to be extra creative. And you know what, even if I could have every piece of designer garb I've ever wanted, I would still shop at flea markets. Because lets face it, how often do you see a dress like this? And, its not even a dress- I decided it would be.
And so here's what I am trying to convey: every garment, even the most bizarre, wacky piece can be styled into something great.
So for the good of fashion, shop at flea markets, vintage stores, charity shops, raid your grandma's wardrobe: because I believe within the fabric fibres of each and every piece of clothing lies infinite styling possibilities." - Audrey Freighton

ReplyDeleteYou really rock that skirt/ dress! I love it as a dress and who cares what it's meant to be. That's what makes us unique, seeing different things out of different pieces. I often pick up lots of things that people think are weird/ ugly but I ultimatly make them my own and pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog today, I'm now following you, hope you'll do the same!
