Lace Me In

sex sells, so I put on a little lace. Really I just like how fancypants it feels to wear something with a great texture. oh goody gumdrops I just had a MOMENT - one where I realized how important TEXTURE is to style (also how writing in ALL CAPS is offensive and much like shouting) (case and point).

While shouting does have its merits, its all about the visual.
Style is one part color, one part pattern, and one part texture. That's how we all should get dressed everyday and we'd have a lot more fun. We also might have a better chance of getting noticed by The Satorialist. sigh. Please come to the midwest. By the way...is the bolding effective or should I go back to ALL CAPS or should I do BOTH?

OK BACK TO LACE

Amongst my email inbox of fashion blast goodies
Refinery 29 has steadily become one of my new favorites. I got a little too giddy when I saw lace blouses on their list of 10 Fall 2010 trends from Paris, London, and Milan. You mean I can be simultaneously daring AND demure? SOLD.
The pointelle top is like giant lace scallops hanging from your shoulders. Très sexy.

one lucky style.spot.

First order of business: Happy St. Patrick/Patricia's day!

Faster than you can say "kiss me i'm irish" and spot a rainbow with a pot of gold -
I can't believe me lucky charms!

Here's my story:

I always look forward to WhoWhatWear newsletters for style inspiration and fresh ideas.

The
WWW Spring Essentials list most definitely caught my eye for two reasons: No. 5 Opening Ceremony Sunburst Lace-Up Wedge in Leopard (I loves leopard) and No. 6 Mulberry Structured Satchel, The Alexa Bag in Oak Buffalo Leather (retailing for $1150!)

I suggest for the amount of money you would pay for the real satchel, you could either fly to thailand or buy a small monkey. Yes, these are your options...However, one can only wonder how delightfully soft it feels to touch Buffalo leather. Maybe you aren't so unreasonable after all Mulberry!?

The practicality of the Alexa's style. is what drew me in - an easy menswear meets lady piece. For this luckyspot. I would like to thank the irish and their silly green day.

Fresh Clear Style

Completely Style.inspired by Eddie Borgo's to die for ready-to-wear Spring 2010 pieces (at a price tag not thrift friendly), I was estatic when I Spot.ted this "Pink Floyd-esque" prism necklace. The geometric shape plays well to Borgo's edgy cuts and its delicate silver chain is both feminine and playful.

While this couldn't replace my affection for his Quartz Two Finger ring - it's cutting it darn close!

This clear glass vintage bubble necklace (pictured bottom right) is a dead-ringer for the look and feel of the infamous Alexis Bittar for Michael Kors lucite bubble necklace! The only thing it's lacking is size... (funny - I think I've said that before:-))

A lucite bangle can easily transition from day to night. I loved the Style. of these Alexis Bittar lucite organic tapered hand-painted bangle bracelet (top right). Mr. Bittar sure seems to be getting a lot of press this season! Well deserved, Mr. Bittar, well deserved.

I Spot.ted a painted lucite bangle in a pretty bronze Run.ning only $4!

Search for chunky lucite bangles at your local thrift shop for an all-in-one staple accessory as seen down the Spring 2010 runways!

Glossy Action

Need a little thrift-spiration? Page through your favorite glossies!

I give my glossies three chances to impress me - first to catch my eye, second to rip out my favorite looks, and a third round just in case I missed anything good paging through too furiously the first time.

I archived this chic dose of French Style. from the February 2010 Lucky Magazine trend alert.

The Spot. is a peplum jacket by Odds N' Evens, a small trading co. in Brooklyn, NY. Classic grey pinstripe is a fool-proof topper when paired with your favorite skinny jeans and strappy heels, just like the effortlessly gorgeous thrift-spiration. Ooh la la

The muted grey tone works well with bold brights and pastels while the overlapping scalloped peplum flaps provide added drama from the back - c'est parfait!
